大作文

In today's world,people spend a lot of money on appearance because they want to look younger.Why does this happen?Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

建議思路:

In contemporary society, there is a widespread admiration (青睞) for youthful skin andslim bodies, which are often perceived as attractive. Initially, this trend was

predominantly (主要地) seen in glamorous industries such as film and modeling;

however, it has now permeated (滲入到) everyday life, exerting significant pressure onindividuals to conform. As a result, many people feel compelled to invest substantialamounts in gym memberships and diet plans in order to maintain an appealing physique(體(ti) 型) . Furthermore, certain professions increasingly require individuals to maintain ayouthful and vibrant look(年輕有活力的外表),leading many Hollywood actors to spendexorbitant sums on cosmetic procedures, as their marketability often hinges on (依賴於(yu) ,取決(jue) 於(yu) )their physical attractiveness(外形吸引力).Consequently, the pursuit ofexternal beauty(外在美)has become a major financial burden for many.

In my view, the emphasis on spending excessively to improve physical appearance hasdetrimental implications for society. Firstly, the pressure to achieve an ideal body shape(理想的身材)has led many young individuals to resort to unhealthy practices(不健康的做法) , such as skipping meals (節食) , in their quest to lose weight. This behavior canresult in serious eating disorders (飲食混亂(luan) ) , such as bulimia, particularly among youngwomen. Secondly, those who cannot afford cosmetic surgeries(整形手術),dietregimens, or gym memberships may suffer from diminished self-esteem. For example,numerous individuals experience depression related to body image issues, stemmingfrom feelings of inadequacy due to being overweight or lacking what is considered aperfect smile and flawless(無暇的)skin.
