prescribed burning（計劃火災）

閱讀認為(wei) 有害：

1. 對動物有害，年幼的動物來不及逃走

2. 產(chan) 生二氧化碳，引起汙染和溫室效應

3. 火勢可能無法控製，花更多錢和精力去治理

聽力不同意：

1. 會(hui) 在特殊的時段進行，不在繁殖期進行，這段時間沒有年幼動物，而成年動物可以逃走的很快

2. 燃燒麵積小，不會(hui) 有很多煙霧，而且樹木會(hui) 吸收二氧化碳，會(hui) 很快被吸掉

3. 對森林有好處，可以清除一些材料比如枯樹，這些東(dong) 西更容易引起火災

We have been discussing different ways people go about choosing what products to buy, and there are many potential sources of information and advice for consumers. In your opinion, which is the better strategy for making purchasing decisions, relying on advice from friends and family, or depending on information from online sources? Why?

Asking friends and family members for product recommendations might seem like an easier option, but it might take too much time to get all the information you need. An internet search would be much more efficient. There are many consumer magazines available online that compile lots of data to compare the advantages and disadvantages of one product versus another.

Paul

The last time I bought a computer, I just watched a few videos online to make a decision, and now I regret that. My friends could have advised me better because they know my preferences and the kind of features that I am interested in. Consumers should get advice from the people around them to find the most suitable products.

Manhaden魚數量減少，政府應該減少捕魚企業(ye) 捕撈作業(ye) ，閱讀提出三種方法：

1. 應該減少striped bass這種魚，因為(wei) 它們(men) 主要捕食Manhaden

2. Manhaden是蛋白質來源，減少這種魚對家禽和家畜都有影響

3. 帶來經濟問題，帶來經濟問題

聽力一一反駁：

1. 減少striped bass會(hui) 對整個(ge) 生態係統帶來影響，破壞影響

2. Soybean也可以提供蛋白質，並且更更加經濟實用

3. 會(hui) 帶來失業(ye) 及經濟損失，但一段時間後可以恢複。如不采取行動，整個(ge) 地區很快遭受影響

I believe social media is a better source of news because it provides quick updates. For example, during breaking news events, social media platforms often deliver information faster than traditional outlets like newspapers or television. This immediate access allows people to stay informed in real time.

Paul

I think traditional news sources are better because they tend to be more accurate. Television, for instance, not only provides well-researched reports but also offers visuals that help viewers understand the story better. Social media might be faster, but it often lacks the depth and verification traditional sources provide.

【綜合寫(xie) 作】

古羅馬城鎮遺跡龐貝古城挖掘出來就倒塌了

閱讀：提出了導致該collapse的三個(ge) problems

1. 因為(wei) 有一些野鳥，他們(men) 會(hui) 破壞能夠保護walls的ash，也會(hui) 留下一些酸性的droppings，毀壞牆壁

2. 有一些非常不負責任的人，他們(men) 在參觀的時候會(hui) 偷一些chunk，但是沒有足夠的警衛去盯著他們(men) ，因為(wei) hire很多警衛太貴了

3. 雖然它有個(ge) support，但是這個(ge) support並不會(hui) 很管用

聽力一一提出對應這三個(ge) 問題的解決(jue) 方案：

1. 人們(men) 可以訓一些hawks，然後這些老鷹在空中盤旋的時候，那些鴿子和野鳥就會(hui) 看到它們(men) ，從(cong) 而產(chan) 生畏懼感，這樣的話，這些鳥就會(hui) 為(wei) 了防止它們(men) 被捕食而逃走了

2. 它們(men) 並不需要很多的警衛，因為(wei) 這個(ge) 世界上有很多對曆史充滿興(xing) 趣的人，即使不支付任何的金錢，他們(men) 也願意來到這個(ge) 龐貝古城的遺址來幫助這些遊客進行一些教育，也可以同時盯著這些遊客，因為(wei) 由於(yu) 他們(men) 的enthusiasm，這些人是不會(hui) 允許遊客去偷東(dong) 西的

3. 倒塌的原因是因為(wei) 這個(ge) support的組成部分裏麵有一些有害的化學物質，這些化學物質一旦被暴露出來，遇到水之後會(hui) 跟水反應，從(cong) 而導致牆坍塌。所以這些工程學家可以提供一種另外的化學物質，這個(ge) 化學物質可以使這個(ge) 牆非常穩定和安全
