ISEE私立學校入學考試介紹

ISEE考試的全稱為(wei) Independent School Entrance Exam，即私立學校入學考試。ISEE由美國私立學校入學考試辦公室(ISEE Operations Office)和美國教育檔案局(Educational Records Bu-reau，簡稱ERB)主辦，主要考察學生的語言和數學理解力及推理能力。

The Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) is an admission test developed by the Educational Records Bureau (ERB) for its member schools as part of their admission process. The ISEE was created by Measurement Incorporated, Durham, NC, and ERB, with assistance from faculty of ERB member schools.

被全世界1200多所獨立學校接受的獨立學校入學考試（ISEE）是最值得信賴的2-12年級學生的入學評估工具。ISEE是所有私立學校入學考試中最多的考試選擇，包括在線考試、紙質考試和在家考試，因此ISEE也是對特定家庭最靈活的評估選擇。同時也是美國眾(zhong) 多公立學校的入學測試，比如教育質量非常高的麻省波士頓公立中學體(ti) 係（Boston Public Schools）中的一些學校把ISEE成績作為(wei) 錄取學生的唯一標準。

The ISEE is the admission test of choice for many independent schools throughout the country and abroad. Test sites are available in numerous cities during the admission testing season.

ISEE考試信息

ISEE考試是分機考和紙筆考試兩(liang) 種形式，學生可以在每個(ge) 考試季--秋季、冬季和春/夏季--參加一次ISEE考試，一學年最多三次。因此，如果一個(ge) 學生在9月的秋季考試季節參加考試，他們(men) 至少需要等到12月的冬季考試季節，才能再次參加ISEE考試。所有申請美國一流私立學校的國際生除了提交TOEFL，一般還需提交一個(ge) 標準化考試的成績，可以選SSAT，也可以是ISEE。

考生和家長首先需要通過ISEE官方報名考試，確定考試日期後可選擇考試形式。如果選擇筆試，考場可以選擇在紐約的ERB考試中心或其他；如果選擇機試，那需要在ERB指定的第三方測試機構--Prometric的標準化考試中心參加考試。機試在電腦上聯網完成，考試內(nei) 容和時限與(yu) 紙筆考試相同，必須先在ERB注冊(ce) ISEE考試。報名費為(wei) 210美金。

考試類別：

Lower Level（初級）：申請5-6年級的學生

Middle Level（中級）：申請7-8年級的學生

Upper Level（高級）：申請9-12年級的學生

考試內(nei) 容：

以Upper Level, 申請9-12年級的學生為(wei) 例，ISEE考試包含以下五項內(nei) 容：

The five sections that make up the ISEE are (in order of testing): Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, Mathematics Achievement, and an Essay which is written by the student in his or her own handwriting in response to a given writing prompt. Each section is designed to tap into a unique aspect of a student’s preparation for academic work.

1. Verbal Reasoning （包括同義(yi) 詞和句子填空兩(liang) 部分，中級和高級考試要求在20分鍾內(nei) 完成40道題）

2. Quantitative Reasoning  （包括文字題和數量比較兩(liang) 部分，主要考察學生對數學概念的理解和應用，在數字、運算、代數、幾何、測量、數據分析和概率、解決(jue) 問題等方麵的知識和能力。中高級考試要求35分鍾內(nei) 完成37道題）

3. Reading Comprehension （有虛構類，也有非虛構類，既有人文、社會(hui) 題材，也有科學題材，題型包括主旨題、態度題、詞匯題、推斷題、結構題、修辭題等，中高級考試要求35分鍾內(nei) 完成6篇文章36道題）

4. Mathematics Achievement  （考查學生的數學知識和技巧、運算理解及應用能力，以及算數、代數、幾何的學科知識。中高級考試要求40分鍾內(nei) 完成47道題。）

5. Essay （學生在30分鍾內(nei) 完成一篇命題作文）
