很學期很多學校準備考EAL的第二個(ge) SAC – Language Analysis(LA)

Unit3中Text Response(TR)已考完，吟領學生們(men) 成績優(you) 異，我們(men) 往期文章也分享過TR的幹貨文章。

那麽(me) 接下來重中之重就是LA了，並且final exam中LA也占40%（包含問答和分析寫(xie) 作）之多。既然明確了重要性，下麵老師就想給大家詳細講一講LA寫(xie) 作，希望助力大家近期的SAC以及最後的大考。

LA分析要點

相信很多同學都抱怨過拿到一篇文章總是懵的，不知道從(cong) 何下手。不要急，先明確分析要點。

LA一般考試中形式一整篇文章和一篇加上一個(ge) 對應的評論來進行對比 這兩(liang) 種情況的可能性基本是一半一半。語言分析重在分析作者的用詞、技巧、情緒語氣等等以及文章中的每個(ge) 部分如何影響了讀者（target audience）的情緒。

因此分析就是圍繞主體(ti) （author）針對某個(ge) 問題(issue)和作者提出的主要觀點（contention），看看作者用了什麽(me) 論點（arguments），論據（evidence），和技巧（techniques）,而這些論點論據和語言技巧又分別對客體(ti) -目標讀者（target audience）產(chan) 生了什麽(me) 樣的影響。

老師在上麵的簡短分析中其實把LA裏麵主要需要掌握的一些概念串聯起來講了一下他們(men) 之間的關(guan) 係，大家有了這些概念後，我們(men) 拿去年真題中的一部分來做個(ge) 具體(ti) 示例分析一下，就更明白了。

2019真題詳解

2019年的考題比較中規中，大家可以看下圖是試卷的LA節選：

拿到這篇文章我們(men) 需要先仔細閱讀background information部分的內(nei) 容基本可以確定文章的background, issue, target audience, 文章的類型，在哪刊登的還有作者的身份。這基本就是我們(men) 在寫(xie) 作點時候introduction裏麵要涵蓋的很多內(nei) 容，當然也可以幫助我們(men) 推測作者的contention。

比如從(cong) 左邊圖片的背景信息我們(men) 知道issue就是關(guan) 於(yu) 一家當地的grocery store結賬方式的問題，傾(qing) 向於(yu) 使用“cashless”就是非現金的結賬方式。文章刊登在一家當地報刊上，類型是advertorial在下麵有解釋是屬於(yu) 社論式廣告，通過討論某種事實話題吸引關(guan) 注。作者呢就是這家店的經理manager，target audience就是廣大customers和報紙的讀者local residents 了。

當然我們(men) 還看到這套LA是一篇文章加相應評論的形式，我們(men) 也要關(guan) 注一下評論的作者信息，背景信息中告訴我們(men) 第二篇文章作者是一位民眾(zhong) ，評論發表在了這篇報刊的一個(ge) 專(zhuan) 欄裏，題材是letter to the editor。

在這裏篇幅限製老師就先拿第一篇文章的一部分為(wei) 例和大家一起分析一下，後麵的部分大家可以自己試一下哦。

背景信息看完我們(men) 來看標題，一看就是很積極向上的message “better, faster“ （positive connotation） 猜我們(men) 也應該猜到，一個(ge) 店的經理怎麽(me) 也不會(hui) 說自己的店不好呢，那根據背景肯定是要說新的不用現金的付款方式有多好，中心論點Contention就出來了。Tone也可以看出來是proud, affirming, confident等等。下麵還配上了一幅積極的圖片，圖片的分析也是很重要的我們(men) 先來看一下基本圖片信息: female staff— friendly figure, smiley, welcoming;  customer’s profile— smiling, feeling satisfied; the gesture of holding hands— shows respect and mutual agreement; influences on readers— the new change is accepted by the public and they feel satisfied. 

當然描述完客觀的圖片內(nei) 容，分析圖片還需要結合具體(ti) 的論點，比如在這裏文章第一段就可以看作和圖片有關(guan) ，我們(men) 一起分析一下。人稱方麵的技巧“you”和“your”是exclusive language, 能讓讀者感同身受（related）,也多次用了inclusive language “We”“our”，與(yu) 讀者拉近距離，同時強調商店的獨特性 “not average”和”different”。因此在開頭就樹立起了a positive image of the store, 顧客至上“customers first”,這一點也是圖片中具像化展示出來的。當然圖片也可以看作是一個(ge) technique, 我們(men) 也要分析讀者的感受。

高分例文注解

結合圖片，本文可以這樣分析—— （例段節選自VCAA官方高分例文）

The writer commences by introducing her store.（Topic sentence） The title suggests her shop will provide customers with ‘better, faster shopping experiences’,（題目積極意向分析） implying the change she will be adopting is a positive change which favors customers shopping experience. She also addresses ‘valued customers’ and commend her store as ‘not average grocery store’ and ‘always put our customers first’ with inclusive language (Technique & Evidence) in attempting to build a friendly rapport with the local customers by presenting herself as a manager who truly cares about all customer’s opinions. Audiences are positioned to （讀者感受）be grateful of Astaire’s suggestion as the store is customer centered for their needs. To advance the argument, the photo is a medium shot of both the customer and the staff, highlighting their both delighted facial expression (圖片描述). This illustrates how both parties are satisfying with the decision of going cashless（點contention ）evoking audience’s (讀者感受) urge to experience the convenient way of paying. The photo also presents the characters shaking hands, implying their mutual agreement of going cashless and suggestion the store’s decision is not only for self benefit, but also has considered customers’ welfare（圖片意圖分析）. This positions readers （讀者感受again~）to feel a sense of inclusion as they can see their opinion is valuable to the store.

Tips

從(cong) 以上開頭部分的例段中我們(men) 可以看出，圖片與(yu) 原文相關(guan) 論點的結合以及分析techniques對於(yu) 讀者的影響是很重要的，在讀文章時要仔細閱讀背景信息和題目對確定target audience和contention非常重要。
