想必不少中國學生在英國讀書(shu) 時都遇到過Email-communication的經曆。作為(wei) Non-native speaker，因為(wei) 不熟悉Email-communication的各種規範和禁忌，在和申請學校聯係、和教授套磁、向外教要邀請信或者申請Internship時，真 · 涼了都不知道怎麽(me) 涼的。
那麽(me) 在英國（或者其他國家）Email-communication時千萬(wan) 不要犯哪些禁忌呢？
郵件禁忌+技巧盤點

千萬(wan) 不要用不正式的郵箱發郵件！
第一印象相當重要！請避免使用任何狂拽酷炫殺馬特昵稱的郵箱地址，比如你用了wildandcrazygeek@gmail.com給教授或者實習(xi) 公司發郵件，那你有很大可能涼了！
建議用學校郵箱發郵件，但請確保學校郵箱確實能收到對方的回執（有些中國大學的學校郵箱存在收不到國外郵件或者發不出去的現象，一個(ge) 名字較為(wei) 正式的私人郵箱地址可以作為(wei) 備用郵箱）！
如果你給申請的公司或套磁的教授寫(xie) 信，學校郵箱往往能讓對方快速了解你來自哪所大學，從(cong) 而提前給公司/教授一個(ge) 較好的第一印象。

一定要在郵件主題中寫(xie) 明來意！
千萬(wan) 不要在郵件主題（Subject）中簡單地丟(diu) 下一個(ge) “Help”或者“Hello” 或者“Question”！
請簡要概述郵件內(nei) 容，如給導師寫(xie) 信問問題：“Query about case study in Clinical Skills lecture.” （如果要詢問某節課的問題，最好把該節課的具體(ti) 時間附上）
如在申請工作或實習(xi) 時，寫(xie) 明你要應聘的崗位: “Application for Library Assistant post ref: LIB/6291.”

開篇一定要先打招呼！
給比較熟絡的導師寫(xie) 信時可以用“名”來稱呼，否則就要用“姓”（如Dear Dr. Miles）。
如果不知道收信人姓名，可以使用:Dear Sir or Madam
對方的職位名稱：如Dear Sales Team, Dear Admissions Office等（如果用To whom it may concern則顯得太過正式，也會(hui) 暴露你對收件人沒有做過調查和了解，因此Blue建議在寫(xie) email之前盡可能了解對方信息）

郵件開頭怎麽(me) 寫(xie) ？
在開篇打招呼以後，尤其是需要有求於(yu) 人的，可以在郵件的開頭（第一句）加上I hope you are well/ hope this email finds you well/hope this email finds you in good health以示客氣，大意為(wei) “希望您最近過的不錯”，是常用的客套話。

千萬(wan) 不要用非正式用語！
一切正式郵件中都應該避免像YOLO（you only live once）或ROFL（rolling on the floor laughing）等等非正式用語。
請確保使用完整的、語法正確的、沒有拚寫(xie) 錯誤的句子。

切忌郵件過長或附超大附件！
教授、學校的工作人員、公司的HR等等平時都很忙，在委婉地表明來意時，不宜過於(yu) 客套導致郵件冗長讓人讀得心累。附件太大下載起來（也許）會(hui) 很慢可能給追求效率的對方帶來麻煩。

如果向對方提出要求，一定要加上Please & Thank you！
保持禮貌永遠是最保險的。

結尾該怎麽(me) 寫(xie) ？
1. 留出互動（郵件往來）的餘(yu) 地郵件最後可以添加一句Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me或者Let me know if you have any issues with (…)，保證對方能夠對你有充分的了解，也讓對方看出你對申請的重視。（如果稍微有點著急希望收到對方回信的話，可以適當地加一句I look forward to hearing from you!）
2. 合適的結尾
（1）給導師寫(xie) 信時：關(guan) 係非常友好的– Best Wishes禮尚往來的– Kind Regards禮貌且熱心的– Best Regard注：簡單點的可直接使用Best或Regards；職業(ye) 上較為(wei) 正式的– Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully…
（2）給（不知道對方具體(ti) 姓名的，Dear Sir or Madam）應聘公司HR寫(xie) 信時可以用“Yours faithfully,”
（3）給（知道對方姓名的，Dear Dr. Smith）應聘公司HR寫(xie) 信時可以用 “Yours sincerely,”

如何向教授要邀請信？
第一部分：Professor [Name]/ Dear Dr. [Name],
（I hope this email finds you well.）【郵件開頭的常用客套話，也可省略】My name is […]. I took your [Course name] course last semester. 【簡要介紹自己與(yu) 教授的關(guan) 係】You may remember me [e.g.coming to your office hours after every test to go over some of my wrong answers/ discuss essay prompts / etc.]【如果和教授在課下有過一定接觸，可以寫(xie) 進來】You may not remember me [e.g. because I tend to put my nose to the grindstone and study on my own.] 【如果和教授從(cong) 沒有課下的接觸, 可以簡要地為(wei) 自己開脫】[Course name] was a very challenging subject for me and I was proud of the [Grade, e.g. A-] I received in your class.【寫(xie) 出自己的該科成績（一般會(hui) 選擇成績較好的課的任課老師寫(xie) 推薦信）】
第二部分：I am currently in the process of applying to [University/College/School name] and I am trying to gather a few letters of recommendation. 【另起一段，寫(xie) 明來意：準備申請某學校，因此需要邀請信】Because I enjoyed [ e.g. your class and teaching style so much/ your research/ etc. ], I decided to start by asking you. Would you be able to write me a strong letter of recommendation for my [University/College/School name] application?【如果和教授有過一定接觸，可以這麽(me) 寫(xie) ；】Because of the way I study it has been difficult for me to develop a relationship with my professors. I enjoyed [your class and teaching style very much/ your research/ etc.], so I decided to start by asking you. Would it be possible for us to meet and discuss the possibility of you writing a strong letter of recommendation for my [medical school] application? 【如果和教授從(cong) 沒有接觸，可以先提出麵談邀請信的事宜，讓對方先了解你；且用語更加委婉】
第三部分：I would be more than happy to meet with you at your convenience. Of course I would also provide my personal statement, CV, and any other material that you would like. 【另起一段，陳述把自己現有的資料（除了PS、CV外，還可以提供自己做過的research/project/paper的資料）提供給導師，保證對方有內(nei) 容可寫(xie) 而不是僅(jin) 憑上課對你的記憶。*有時也有自己先寫(xie) 好推薦信、讓教授過目修改的操作（需和教授討論）】
第四部分：If you don’t feel comfortable writing me a strong letter of recommendation, please don’t feel obligated to say yes. I completely understand. 【如果和導師有過接觸（但還是不太熟），可以參考如上表述】
I realize that writing a letter of recommendation would be a burden on your time and it means a lot to me that you would take the time to read and consider my request. 【但如果你是課堂上的隱形人，和導師完全沒接觸，就要把自己的要求寫(xie) 的更加的委婉，給對方留出選擇餘(yu) 地的同時表達出迫切和感激】

套磁信該怎麽(me) 寫(xie) ？
第一部分：Dear Professor XXX,(I hope this email finds you well/ I hope this email finds you in good health) 【同郵件開頭的常用客套話，也可省略】
My name is XXX and I am writing to you as a prospective student in your Bioengineering Ph.D. program at Stanford, commencing in the Fall of 2012. I attended your presentation in Langer Lab Seminar this November and I am particularly interested in your research that is directed towards designing novel approaches in decoupling biochemical and mechanical properties of cell scaffolds using the microribbon-like hydrogels, and mixed co-culture enhanced cartilage matrix production.套磁第一步：1. 簡要闡明自己的身份2. 套磁的動機3. 自己與(yu) 教授認識的契機
