for example怎麽用？

經常在網上看到有些博主或老師會(hui) 說for example太過低級，考試中用並不會(hui) 加分。實際上，大部分同學隻掌握了for example的最基礎用法，即For example, …。自然得不了高分。這篇文章就來講一下for example這個(ge) 短語的幾種實用的高階用法。

for example在邏輯上有兩(liang) 種功能：

1⃣️對上一句的舉(ju) 例for example起這一作用時，就相當於(yu) 一個(ge) 插入語。大家所熟知的For example放在句首就是起到這種功能。這是最基礎的用法，在此基礎上，可以進行延伸，將帶有例子性質的成分放在句首，將for example作插入語放在其後麵。最常見的有兩(liang) 種情況：

A主語, for example, 剩餘(yu) 部分.

此時的主語帶有很強的例子性質，是對上一句的舉(ju) 例。

比如外刊上的一句話：In the short term, cheap oil dims countries' ardour for solar power. Saudi Arabia, for example, might prefer to burn more oil for energy.

從(cong) 短期來看，廉價(jia) 的石油降低了各國對於(yu) 太陽能的熱情。比如，沙特阿拉伯可能更偏向於(yu) 燃燒石油來獲取能源。

【主語Saudi Arabia是對上一句countries的舉(ju) 例】 再造個(ge) 句：Climate change has dealt a heavy blow to wildlife. Polar bears, for example, have seen their habitat nibbled away at by warmer ocean temperatures, and consequently face the prospect of extinction.

氣候變化對野生動植物造成了嚴(yan) 重危害。比如，北極熊的棲息地已經在受到海洋溫度變暖的逐漸侵蝕，並且因此麵臨(lin) 著滅絕的可能。

B 狀語, for example, 主句.

此時的狀語帶有較強的例子性質，通常是某個(ge) 地點、時間或情況。

造個(ge) 句：Situated at the junction of two tectonic plates, Japan is beset by frequent earthquakes. In 2011, for example, a magnitude 9.0 quake struck the island country, claiming tens of thousands of lives and wreaking a havoc on its economy.

處在兩(liang) 大地質板塊交界處的日本飽受頻繁地震的困擾。比如，2011年一場9.0級地震襲擊了日本，導致數萬(wan) 人死亡並嚴(yan) 重影響其經濟。

2⃣️對本句前麵內(nei) 容的舉(ju) 例

這種情況下的用法較多，這裏講幾個(ge) 最常見的：

Afor example前後兩(liang) 個(ge) 成分形式保持一致，後麵是前麵的同位語。for example前麵需要有個(ge) 逗號。

一般為(wei) ：名詞成分, for example 名詞成分比如：

English majors are required to learn a second foreign language, for example Japanese or French.英專(zhuan) 生需要學習(xi) 一門二外，比如日語或法語。【這裏的for example也可以改為(wei) such as】

這裏如果用such as/like的話，則前麵可以不加逗號：English majors are required to learn a second foreign language such as Japanese or French.

Bfor example後麵也經常接介詞結構，該結構與(yu) 前麵構成定語或狀語關(guan) 係。此時for example前麵同樣要有逗號。如：

1 Since populations are ageing and the young workforce shrinking, robots are playing agrowing role in elderly care, for example in Japan and Sweden.由於(yu) 人口在老齡化且年輕勞動人口在縮減，機器人在老年護理方麵正在發揮越來越重要的作用，比如在日本和瑞典。【in Japan and Sweden與(yu) 上文構成狀語關(guan) 係】

2 Government policies, for example on education and retirement,make ahuge difference to people's lives.政府政策，比如關(guan) 於(yu) 教育和退休方麵的，對人們(men) 的生活有著很大的影響。【policy on sth關(guan) 於(yu) 某方麵的政策。on education and retirement可以視為(wei) 與(yu) government policies構成定語關(guan) 係】

上麵兩(liang) 句話中，去掉“, for example in”和“, for example on”之後，句子結構依然成立，隻不過邏輯關(guan) 係變了。
