They have a reputation as pranksters but have never inflicted lasting damage on a Human.Green in color, the Leprechaun reaches a height of around six inches, and normally wear clothing made out of leaves. Leprechauns main diet consists of vegetation, primarily leaves.
- They possessed diminutive intelligence and lived mainly in woodlands or glades.The fairy was a vain creature and would often allow itself to be used as decoration by wizardkind. Due to their vanity, fairies were almost constantly grooming themselves. They possessed a weak brand of magic that allowed it to evade its predators such as the Augurey.
- A Chimaera was a type of hybrid animal and a violent magical beast native to Greece.The Chimaera was a vicious, bloodthirsty beast with a lion‘s head, a goat’s body and a tail of snake. Because of their ferocity, Chimaeras were classified by the Ministry of Magic as XXXXX (extremely dangerous and lethal), and their eggs were classified as Class A Non-Tradeable Materials.
大家好，今天我們(men) 依舊是講那些在哈利波特小說電影中出現，或者在哈利波特世界觀之中出現的神奇生物。
上一期我們(men) 講到，對於(yu) 哈利波特中的這些魔法生物，魔法部都會(hui) 根據其形態和智力分為(wei) Being，Beast，Spirit 三種。
Being、Beast、Spirit
但是其實，對於(yu) 這些魔法生物，魔法部還有相應的另一種分類。不知道大家還記不記得我們(men) 上期的課堂中講到過 Thestral（夜騏）這種生物。
我曾經說道它被分為(wei) XXXX 級生物，而這裏的 XXXX 則是魔法部針對這些生物的危險程度進行的另一種分類。
第一級生物（X）：無趣的。
第二級生物（XX）：無害生物，可能被捕獲或者馴養(yang) 。
（domesticated 這個(ge) 單詞要注意和 domestic，國內(nei) 的，區分開來。雖然是同一個(ge) 詞根，但是意思不一樣。）
第三級生物（XXX）：隻有有一定實力的（competent）巫師可以應對這些生物。
第四級生物（XXXX）：非常危險的生物，隻有魔法生物專(zhuan) 門人員（Specialist）以及 Hagrid 能夠處理。
（ Hagrid 被專(zhuan) 門分出一類，可見其在魔法生物這一領域的能力是值得肯定的。）
第五級生物（XXXXX）：極度危險，這一等級生物都是有名的巫師殺手，無法被任何方式馴服或者養(yang) 殖。
（ Acromantula 算是一個(ge) 比較特例的生物，因為(wei) 它們(men) 的頭領和 Hagrid 關(guan) 係很好，不會(hui) 輕易攻擊人類。）
學習(xi) 完分類，我們(men) 就接著上期的內(nei) 容，給大家繼續介紹剩下的 Beast 分類當中，L老師認為(wei) 有意思的魔法生物吧。
1、Pixie (調皮搗蛋的小精靈)音標：[ˈpɪksi]
P.S 每次看到這個(ge) 生物，L老師都要提醒一次，各位語文成績不錯的同學不要試著用拚音去讀他的名字，不然總感覺哪裏不對勁 XD。

Pixie 是一種鐵藍色的（Electric Blue），大概八英寸（大致 20 cm ）高的尖臉生物。如同自然界中的螞蟻一樣，Pixie 有著與(yu) 自己身體(ti) 不相符的力量。Pixie 作為(wei) 形容詞的時候指調皮搗蛋的，也正如其名，Pixie 非常喜歡惡作劇。憑借著驚人的力量，這些 Pixie 經常會(hui) 抓著人類的耳朵把他們(men) 提到空中，然後把他們(men) 掛（depositing）在一個(ge) 很高的建築或者樹上。
Pixie 之間可以互相聽懂對方的語言，但是對於(yu) 人類來說，他們(men) 的語言更像是一種嗡嗡聲。在電影《哈利波特與(yu) 密室》中，Professor Lockhart 為(wei) 了展現自己的實力（雖然他根本沒有），將一籠子 Pixie 帶到了黑魔法防禦課堂上。
在釋放出這群小妖精之後，卻發現自己根本無法將它們(men) 抓回，並且引起了相當大的混亂(luan) 。這場混亂(luan) 中最大的受害者便是 Nevile Longbutton 了，他也因此說出了專(zhuan) 屬於(yu) 他的這麽(me) 一句經典台詞，Why is it always me ?
（Nevile 在係列小說電影中永遠都是那個(ge) 無辜受害者，似乎隻要有他出現就有笑點。然而，盡管經常被捉弄，看上去畏畏縮縮，卻在最後的魔法戰爭(zheng) 中獲得了格蘭(lan) 芬多之劍的青睞。）
2、Mooncalf（月犢）音標：[muːnkɑːf]
P.S 這個(ge) 中文名字大家不要在意，因為(wei) L老師也不知道他具體(ti) 叫什麽(me) ，隻知道他的名字 Mooncalf 是由月亮和牛犢（calf）組合而來。
Mooncalf 這個(ge) 詞還可以指白癡，懶散的人。
（這便是L老師在上一期中提到的生物，戳中萌點。）

Mooncalf 是一種有著灰白色皮膚，四隻小短腿（spindly legs）以及蹼狀腳掌的生物。他們(men) 的腦袋上有著像青蛙一樣凸出來（bulging）的藍色眼睛。Mooncalf 一般住在麥田裏，隻會(hui) 在午夜時分從(cong) 自己的洞穴中出來。有時候他們(men) 會(hui) 後腳著地，前腳離地，以一種非常奇特的方式跳舞。據說這種舞蹈是屬於(yu) Mooncalf 的一種求偶儀(yi) 式（mating ritual）。
但是，他們(men) 的這種行為(wei) 經常會(hui) 在麥田裏留下一些幾何形狀，被麻瓜們(men) 誤解。相信很多同學應該都有聽過麥田怪圈（Crop Formation）事件。曆史上發生過的次數不少，有人認為(wei) 是外星人，有人認為(wei) 是地球磁場，也有人直接站出來承認是自己幹的，想要一舉(ju) 成名。但是L老師認為(wei) ，說不定這些麻瓜們(men) 都不知道，其實真正的始作俑者就是這些可愛的 Mooncalf。

Fwooper（惡婆鳥）是一種原產(chan) 自非洲的鳥類。他們(men) 的羽毛非常鮮豔，一般有橙色，粉色，石灰綠（lime green）以及黃色。
Fwooper（惡婆鳥）最為(wei) 出名的便是它的高音尖叫。它的叫聲能夠直接讓聽到的人瘋狂，（insane，這裏倒是和我們(men) 之前講過的 Siren 有點像。）所以在販賣時，商家需要為(wei) 每一隻 Fwooper 都施加沉默咒（Silencing Charm）。因為(wei) 咒語的力量會(hui) 隨時間減弱，每個(ge) 月都要重新（reinforce 增強）對 Fwooper 施咒。因此，販賣和飼養(yang) 者都需要持有相關(guan) 的證件。

Leprechaun（愛爾蘭(lan) 小矮妖）也叫 Clauricorn ，是一種淘氣的（mischievous，愛惡作劇的）喜歡穿著由綠葉製成衣服的神奇生物。他們(men) 本身其實對人類並沒有什麽(me) 惡意的（malicious，mal 為(wei) 詞綴的單詞一般都是指不好的，或者惡意的。），但是惡作劇實在是他們(men) 的天性（prankster 愛惡作劇的人）。
他們(men) 熱愛惡作劇，但是從(cong) 來不會(hui) 給人類帶來（inflict 招致）永久持續性傷(shang) 害。Leprechaun 出現在電影《哈利波特與(yu) 火焰杯》當中的魁地奇世界杯上。魁地奇世界杯的決(jue) 賽的兩(liang) 隻隊伍分別是愛爾蘭(lan) 隊和保加利亞(ya) 隊，而 Leprechaun 就是愛爾蘭(lan) 隊的吉祥物（mascot），伴隨著球隊的隊員們(men) 一起出場。小說中提到，Harry 和 Ron 都是愛爾蘭(lan) 隊的球迷，因此他們(men) 一起去了愛爾蘭(lan) 球隊的臨(lin) 時營地。球隊的營地也如同 Leprechaun 一樣，全部由綠葉覆蓋組成。
5、Fairy（小妖精）音標：[ˈferi]

和我們(men) 在灰姑娘當中看到的那些 Fairy（小妖精）們(men) 不一樣，魔法世界中的 Fairy（小妖精）並不像我們(men) 想象中的那麽(me) 美好。它們(men) 的智商非常低（dimunutive 極小的，微小的），居住在森林中的空地（glade 林中空地）。
Fairy 們(men) 都是虛榮的（vain）生物，他們(men) 願意被巫師們(men) 用作裝飾，彰顯他們(men) 自己的美麗(li) 。也正是因為(wei) 他們(men) 的虛榮心，他們(men) 幾乎無時不刻都在打扮（groom）自己。他們(men) 的魔力也相當微弱，僅(jin) 僅(jin) 隻能夠幫助妖精們(men) 逃離自己的天敵（predators），Augurey。
（Augurey 也屬於(yu) Beast 當中的一種，但是L老師覺得他們(men) 除了捕食妖精以外沒什麽(me) 特別之處；硬要說的話可能就就是他們(men) 的別稱，被稱為(wei) 愛爾蘭(lan) 鳳凰，雖然他跟鳳凰相比，除了都是鳥以外沒有半毛錢關(guan) 係）。
6、Chimaera（奇美拉）音標：[kaɪ'mɪrə]
P.S 因為(wei) 關(guan) 於(yu) 奇美拉有太多不同的版本了，我隻能放個(ge) 和介紹中比較相似的圖片。

Chimaera（奇美拉）算是一種大家比較熟悉的魔法生物了，因為(wei) 在各種各樣的遊戲中都有他的身影。奇美拉是一種雜交生物，來自希臘神話。（據《神譜》記載，奇美拉是大地女神 Gaia 和煉獄之神 Tartarus 的孩子）奇美拉有著獅子的頭，羊的身體(ti) 以及一條蛇作為(wei) 尾巴（很多版本中奇美拉身上長著這三種動物的頭顱）。他們(men) 非常的凶猛（ferocity）以及嗜血（bloodthirsty）。因此，奇美拉被魔法部定義(yi) 為(wei) 危險程度最高（XXXXX）的生物，並且他們(men) 產(chan) 的卵也被分為(wei) 極度稀有不可交易類材料。講到這裏，L老師就差不多把 Beast 分類中比較有趣的生物給講完了，下一期就會(hui) 開始講魔法生物的下一個(ge) 分類，Being。
