一次學會rage, outrage, outraged, outrageous

1) rage是anger的替換詞，隻是程度略深；

‍2) outrage有2層意思（抽象和具體(ti) ），語義(yi) 跟rage差不多，但是不能被rage和anger替換；‍3)outraged接近angry，隻是程度更深；

4)outrageous跟outraged差異非常大！

1rage

1）憤怒e.g.1 His face was redwith rage.他氣紅了臉。‍‍‍‍

e.g.2She was shaking with rage.她因為(wei) 憤怒而顫抖。

e.g.3Sue stormed out of the room in a rage.Sue帶著怒火衝(chong) 出房間。

注意下劃線處的介詞搭配。

2outrage

1）憤怒（抽象名詞，不可數）

‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍e.g.1Environmentalists haveexpressedoutrage at the ruling.環境學家表達了對這種管理的憤怒。‍‍‍

e.g.2The decision has provoked outrage from human rights groups.這個(ge) 決(jue) 定激起了人權組織的憤怒。

e.g.3The judge's remarks caused public outrage.法官的話引起了公憤。注意下劃線處的動詞搭配。

感覺rage和outrage意思差不多，那有什麽(me) 差別呢？

Rage is usually talking about one person who is mad.

Outrage is usually talking about a lot of people.

差別在於(yu) ，Rage往往指一個(ge) 人，而Outrage通常指一群人。‍‍‍‍‍

2）暴行（具體(ti) 名詞）它是抽象名詞violence（不可數）具體(ti) 後的行為(wei) ，可數。‍‍‍‍‍‍

e.g.1No one has yet claimed responsibility for this latest terrorist outrage.至今還沒有人站出來為(wei) 最近的這次恐怖主義(yi) 暴行負責。

‍‍‍‍‍‍e.g.2The terrorists' latest outrage is a bomb attack on a busy station.恐怖分子最近的暴行是用炸彈襲擊一個(ge) 忙碌的車站。

e.g.3The incidentsparkeda public outrage.這一事件激起了一次公眾(zhong) 的暴行。

3 outraged(=extremely angry)非常生氣的；憤怒的

e.g.1Local people were outraged at the bombing.當地人因為(wei) 這次爆炸而憤怒。

e.g.2Many outraged viewers wrote to the BBC to complain.很多憤怒的觀眾(zhong) 寫(xie) 信到BBC去投訴。前麵說rage用於(yu) 個(ge) 人，outrage用於(yu) 人群，那outraged可以用於(yu) 個(ge) 人嗎？可以，見：

‍‍‍‍e.g.3I get outraged when ever I see Michael Vick trying to act all high and innocent.當我看到Michael Vick試圖表現得高貴無辜的時候，我感到憤怒。

‍4outrageous

1）冒犯性的跟rage有關(guan) ，因為(wei) 這種冒犯性可以是因為(wei) 生氣而產(chan) 生的。e.g.1I must apologize for my friend's outrageous behaviour.我為(wei) 朋友冒犯性的行為(wei) 道歉。

2）超出常理的‍‍‍‍‍‍‍e.g.1Charges for long-distance telephones calls are absolutely outrageous.長途電話的收費絕對超出常理。

e.g.2She says the most outrageous things sometimes.她有時候會(hui) 說一些超出常理的話。

e.g.3Even if average pay is reasonable, some American bosses get outrageous salaries.

一些美國老板的薪資很不合理，即使他們(men) 的平均收入合理。‍‍‍
