英文寫作高分同義替換

在本專(zhuan) 欄中，我會(hui) 選取英文寫(xie) 作當中常見的同義(yi) 替換進行講解，所講解的詞匯表達為(wei) 通用詞匯或者話題詞匯。

1 使...可能(make sth possible)

allow、enable、facilitate

allow/enable後麵既可以是不定式allow/enable sb to do，也可以是名詞成分allow/enable sth。

facilitate後麵隻能加名詞成分facilitate sth。

①The platform enables students to access class materials online.該平台使學生可以在線查看課堂內(nei) 容。

②The system allows the easy transfer of data from one computer to another.該係統使得數據可以很容易地從(cong) 一台電腦傳(chuan) 輸到另一台電腦中。

這句話也可以改成allow sb to do結構： The system allows users to transfer data easily from one computer to another. 相比之下，前者更簡潔。

③Computers can be used to facilitate language learning.電腦可以用來便利語言學習(xi) 。【facilitate通常帶有使...更便利的意思】

2 促進；助長(promote)encourage、foster、prompt

①measures to encourage recycling促進回收的措施 | Some computer games encourage violent behaviour in children.有些電腦遊戲會(hui) 助長兒(er) 童的暴力行為(wei) 。【encourage既可以用作褒義(yi) ，也可以是貶義(yi) 。】

②The club's aim is to foster better relations within the community.俱樂(le) 部的目標是促進團體(ti) 內(nei) 部的關(guan) 係。

③Curiosesity may prompt teenagers to commit crimes.好奇心可能是促使青少年犯罪。

【prompt表示促使某人做某事：prompt sb to do】

3 減輕(make sth less severe)

relieve、ease、alleviate、lessen、amelioraterelieve/ease/alleviate的賓語一般是問題。

①The scheme is designed to relieve traffic congestion on the main routes into the city.該方案旨在減輕通往城市主幹道的交通擁堵問題。

②This should ease the burden on busy teachers.這應該可以減輕繁忙老師的負擔。

③measures to alleviate poverty減輕貧困程度的措施lessen的用法範圍更廣，表示(使)數量/程度/重要性減少。

④The new project will lessen the effects of car pollution.新項目將減輕汽車汙染的影響。

⑤Several steps can be taken to ameliorate the situation.可以采取幾項措施以改善局麵。

【ameliorate與(yu) situation是常用搭配。這句話可以用來引出解決(jue) 方法】

ease/lessen兩(liang) 個(ge) 詞除了作使動詞，還可以作不及物動詞，即sth eases/lessens。
