Social Justice Awards 2022 Fall 大賽正式開啟！

Social Justice Awards是由青少年非營利組織Social Justice Watcher (SJW) 所舉(ju) 辦的寫(xie) 作、演講與(yu) 藝術大賽，旨在通過寫(xie) 作、演講與(yu) 藝術創作，引導青少年關(guan) 注社會(hui) 不平等現象，促使青年人思考並通過自身行動改變社會(hui) 。

在往屆大賽中，我們(men) 收到來自中國、新加坡、美國、英國、加拿大、荷蘭(lan) 、瑞士、日本、泰國等地區280多所中學，超過730名學生的參賽作品。多位獲獎者被哈佛大學、耶魯大學、哥倫(lun) 比亞(ya) 大學、斯坦福大學、芝加哥大學、西北大學、布朗大學、康奈爾大學、牛津大學等世界名校錄取。

2022年春季，大賽新增了演講類別，旨在鼓勵青少年發聲，表達自己對社會(hui) 問題的見解。此次大賽，我們(men) 邀請了來自哥倫(lun) 比亞(ya) 大學、加州大學伯克利分校、複旦大學、麥克馬斯特學院、英國皇家藝術學院、天津美術學院、巴納德學院的教授、演講教練、設計師與(yu) 藝術家擔任賽事的最終評審委員。

賽事背景

2022 秋季賽事主題

Environmental Justice For All 環境正義(yi)

Environmental Justice is the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people, regardless of race, color, national origin, or income, with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies. Fair treatment means that no population bears a disproportionate share of negative environmental consequences resulting from industrial, municipal, and commercial operations or from the execution of federal, state, and local laws; regulations; and policies. Meaningful involvement requires effective access to decision makers for all, and the ability in all communities to make informed decisions and take positive actions to produce environmental justice for themselves.（Department of Energy, USA）This year, we invite young people from all over the world to discuss Environmental Justice, think about how we can change people’s ideas through actions. We hope to convey a message to everyone：Environmental Justice is Human Justice.

環境正義(yi) 是所有人在環境法律、法規和政策的製定、實施和執行方麵的公平待遇和有意義(yi) 的參與(yu) ，無論其種族、膚色、國籍或收入如何。公平待遇意味著任何人口都不會(hui) 因工業(ye) 、市政和商業(ye) 運營或聯邦、州和地方法律的執行而承擔不成比例的負麵環境後果；法規；和政策。

有意義(yi) 的參與(yu) 需要所有人都能有效地接觸到決(jue) 策者，並且所有社區都有能力做出明智的決(jue) 定並采取積極行動為(wei) 自己創造環境正義(yi) 。（美國能源部）今年，我們(men) 邀請世界各地的年輕人一起討論環境正義(yi) ，思考如何通過行動改變人們(men) 的想法。

參賽要求

大賽題目 Prompts

1. "If you really think that the environment is less important than the economy, try holding your breath while you count your money." - Guy McPherson. How would you choose between economy and environment?

2. Where did the concept "Environmental Justice" come from? What are some of the causes and effects of environmental injustices?

3. Who's more responsible for the environemental crisis, corporation or individual?

所有參賽者必須從(cong) 以上題目中選擇一個(ge) 作為(wei) 作品主題。

All candidates must answer one of these questions via writing, speech or artwork.

參賽條件 Entry Requirements

任何國家地區任何學校，且年齡在2022年9月1號提交截止日期時未超過21歲的青少年均可參加比賽。

Entry is open to students from any country and any school. Candidates must be 21 years old, or younger, on the date of the submission deadline, 1st September 2022.

9月15日：公布入圍名單

10月1日：公布比賽獲獎者名單

1st September 2022: Submission deadline

15th September: Short-listed candidates notifiedWinners will be announced in 1st October.

獎項設置 Awards

比賽設有一等獎、二等獎、三等獎、入圍獎以及特別大獎First Prize, Second Prize, Third Prize，Shortlist for each genre and Grand Prize .

特別大獎得主將獲得由 American Scholastic Convention（ASC）提供的美國頂尖大學教授科研項目指定課題

全額獎學金1份。

一、二、三等獎得主也將分別獲得50%、30%、20%的指定課題獎學金1份。

一等獎得主將獲得由Social Justice Watcher（SJW）頒發的1000元獎金。

參與(yu) 費用 Entry Fee

200人民幣/30美金。

所有收入將被用於(yu) 項目運營以及其他非營利性活動。

All income will be used for project operations and other non-profit activities.

寫(xie) 作要求 Writing Requirements

● 作品須以英語寫(xie) 成

● 敘事文或論文（600-2000詞）；詩歌（不超過80行）

● 作品須為(wei) 原創。如有引用他人作品，參賽者必須包括文中引用以及參考文獻。如發現有抄襲，參賽者將被立即取消資格。不要在文中包括名字、家庭住址等任何個(ge) 人信息。

● The work must be written in English

● Narratives or Essays (600-2000 words); Poetry (no more than 80 lines)

● Participants must complete their work originally. If other’s works are cited, participants must include in-textcitation and bibliography. Once the participant is found to plagiarized, he or she will be disqualified directly. Do not include any personal information, such as name, home address, etc

作品格式 The Format

● MS Word文件（文件須小於(yu) 20M）

● 作品題目必須置於(yu) 作品第一頁

● Times New Roman字體(ti) ，12號字，2.0行距

● 如有參考，請使用文中引用及參考文獻

● 文件名以姓名+類別組成（Sam Zhang, Writing）

● MS Word Format files (files less than 20 M)

● The title of the work must be placed at the first page of the article

● Times New Roman, 12-point type, double-spaced

● If there are references, please indicate the in-text citation and references

● The file is named by name + category (Sam Zhang, Writing)

演講作品要求 Speech Requirements

● 作品須以英語演講

● 演講時長不得超過5分鍾

● The speech must be done in English

● Video length must not exceed 5 minutes

● Participants must complete their work originally. Once the participant is found to plagiarized, he or she will be disqualified directly. Do not include any personal information, such as name, home address, etc

作品格式 The Format

● 視頻請以視頻鏈接形式（例如bilibili，youtube etc.）上傳(chuan) ，其他作品以Word作為(wei) 最終格式上傳(chuan) （例如：某參賽作品為(wei) 攝影/視頻作品，則參賽者可以先建立word文檔，在文檔中插入作品/視頻鏈接以及作品陳述後提交）

● 文件名由姓名+類別組成（keyi Lin, Speech）

● Videos will be uploaded in video link (e.g. bilibili, youtube etc.）

● The file is named by name + category (keyi Lin, Speech)

藝術作品要求 Art Requirements

● 漫畫、音樂(le) 、設計、視頻、繪畫、插圖、混合畫、攝影、版畫

● 作品須為(wei) 原創。

● 參賽者可以組成不超過2人的團隊完成作品，或自己獨自完成。

● 不要包括名字、家庭住址等任何個(ge) 人信息

● 參賽者須提交不少於(yu) 100詞的英文作品陳述

● Works in the form of comic art, music, design, video, painting and illustration, mixed media, photography, printmaking
