羅德島設計學院（RISD）中國官方夏校怎麽樣？

羅德島青少年暑期藝術學院，是全球頂尖藝術院校羅德島設計學院（RISD）在中國的官方夏校。

2022年夏天，RISD的夏校課程將正式登陸中國！此次夏校藝術課程將由羅德島設計學院主辦，上海赫德學校承辦，在學術專(zhuan) 業(ye) 度和師資重量級上全部比肩RISD在本校的夏校課程。

目前我已經開始準備大學申請的作品集了，請問老師是否會(hui) 在夏校期間就學生個(ge) 人的作品集和學生進行討論並指導？

I have started to work on my portfolio for college application, will RISD teachers review and give guidance on my portfolio?

學生在上課期間可以就自己的作品向老師提問，也會(hui) 收到老師的反饋。老師會(hui) 給出未來藝術學習(xi) 和作品集的建議，也會(hui) 就未來的升學和職業(ye) 發展給出指導，但是RISD的老師不會(hui) 就學生的完整作品集進行點評。雖然本項目不是一個(ge) 作品集集訓營，但學生有大量的studio時間來完成項目作業(ye) ，可用於(yu) 豐(feng) 富自己的作品集。如果你希望得到RISD老師對作品集的點評，歡迎訪問RISD官網大學申請頁麵，預約其麵向全球申請人的Portfolio Review Days。

Students will certainly have opportunities to ask questions and receive feedback on their work and assignments during the class, however, faculty will not review or advise on their portfolioses as a whole. Instructors will provide final assessments and recommendations for student continued artistic and portfolio development, as well as insight into potential education and career opportunities. But this Program is not targeted at portfolio development despite students will have plenty of time to work on their Program assignments which can go into their portfolio. All students can make an appointment with the RISD Admission team through Portfolio Review Days.

 

課程結束時，學生將有什麽(me) 樣的作品收獲？

Apart from a sketchbook filled with their ideas, what are other deliverables upon completion of the program? Will they have a finished artwork for each of the courses and can go into their college application portfolio?

課程結束時，每位同學都將會(hui) 完成個(ge) 人藝術作品，可以放在未來作品集裏。在學習(xi) 過程中，學生也會(hui) 形成自己的sketchbook積累藝術創意，為(wei) 以後的作品集打基礎。

Students will have develop finished artwork that will be used in their portfolio. Completion of the program results in the creation of an individualized sketchbook of inquiries and a series of studies to inform future portfolio work. They will create work that will enhance their portfolio and contribute to their art and design college application.

 

請問分班標準和師資配置如何？
May I know how do you assign classes and allocate teachers?

40名同學分為(wei) 2個(ge) 班，學生是隨機平均分到兩(liang) 個(ge) 班的，每個(ge) 班上課內(nei) 容完全一樣。每個(ge) 班的同學都會(hui) 接觸到2位RISD線上老師——Yevgeniya Baras老師教繪畫，David Scanavino老師教設計。在Critique環節，老師還將邀請RISD線上助教參與(yu) 。每個(ge) 班還會(hui) 配置1名RISD跟班線下老師和1名赫德助教，他們(men) 將結合線上老師授課的內(nei) 容，指導學生以RISD的學習(xi) 方法完成每天的學習(xi) 任務。

Students are assigned to the sections at random and both classes will have the same teaching and learning content. Students will have the opportunity to work with both teachers. Yevgeniya will teach Drawing and David will teach Design.  During critique session, teachers will also invite RISD online TA to participate. In each class, there will be 1 RISD offline teacher and 1 HD bilingual TA to support the assignment in compliance with RISD pedagogy.

Will RISD Summer Teen Art Institute issue certificate?

項目結束時，學生將獲得由RISD官方頒發的結業(ye) 證書(shu) 。證書(shu) 樣板如下。

Yes, upon competition, students will receive a Certificate of Completion issue by RISD.

 

請問項目每天的課程內(nei) 容是怎樣的？
What is the daily schedule throughout the program?

本項目是為(wei) 期三周的住宿項目。周一到周五的課程安排和學習(xi) 任務較為(wei) 緊湊，每天的工作室學習(xi) 時間長達7-8小時，並且還有開放工作室供學生課後練習(xi) 。為(wei) 保證勞逸結合，周末學生們(men) 會(hui) 在老師帶領下進行文化藝術活動，也會(hui) 有較為(wei) 放鬆的自行練習(xi) 時間，可用於(yu) 準備最終的作品展示。詳細的日程安排將於(yu) 近日公布，請持續關(guan) 注。

This Program is a 3-week residential program. On weekdays, learning will have rigorous and intensive with 7-8 studio hours followed by open studio hours. On weekends, students will be guided by HD teachers to enjoy cultural and artistic relaxing events, and open studio will also be provided on campus for students to work toward their final presentation. A detailed daily schedule will be published shortly and please stay tuned.

 

請問本輪申請季已經開始了嗎？
Has the application started?

第一輪申請時間為(wei) 2022年1月12日-3月31日。申請平台已開放，請點擊https://ce.risd.edu/summer-teen-institute-shanghai/ 頁麵最下端的“Apply Now”進行申請。所有申請材料將在申請關(guan) 閉後統一進行審核。

The first round will be from Jan 12 to Mar 31. The application portal has been open and please click Apply Now on https://ce.risd.edu/summer-teen-institute-shanghai/. All the materials will be review at once after the application is closed (?).

 

托福或者雅思考試周期都比較長，能否介紹一下多鄰國英語考試？
It takes longer time to get the TOEFL or IELTS results, and could you please introduce more about Duolingo?

多鄰國測試很方便，隨時可以在線考，一個(ge) 小時內(nei) 考完，兩(liang) 天即可出結果。考試費為(wei) 49美元，付費後21天內(nei) 都可以進行測試。

It is very easy and convenient to take Duolingo English test. The test is online and can be completed in one hour. You will get the results in 2 days. Test cost is $49 and you can take the test within 21 days after the payment.

 

母語是英文也需要英語水平證明嗎？
If English is my first language, do I need to submit English test results?

網申界麵可以選擇“英語是否為(wei) 你的第一語言”，如果英語是申請者的第一語言，則不需要提交任何證明文件。針對英語為(wei) 第二外語的申請者，需要提交英語能力證明。建議英語水平達到托福79分，多鄰國100或雅思6.5以上。

Students will have an option on their application to select if English is their first language. If they select English, they will not be prompted to upload any documents. If they select anything other than English, they will be required to upload proof of proficiency. RISD suggests a result of 79 on the TOEFL, 100 on Duolingo or 6.5 on the IELTS for ESL students

 

我家孩子年級不符合要求，但非常想參加這個(ge) 夏校，也精心準備了英語和藝術申請材料，請問可以報名嗎？
My child doesn’t meet the grade requirement but is very passionate about the program and has prepared application materials, can he/she apply?

羅德島設計學院考慮到同年齡層的學生在一起會(hui) 有更好的學習(xi) 和社交體(ti) 驗，因此設置了9-11年級在讀的標準。然而近期我們(men) 收到了非常多8年級優(you) 秀學生的申請意向。經過慎重考慮，為(wei) 了給更多學生提供學習(xi) 機會(hui) ，RISD目前可以接受8年級在讀學生的申請。最終申請結果會(hui) 按照所有申請者提交的材料進行擇優(you) 錄取。

RISD does try to keep the age/grade requirements firm, especially with the grade as we want students to feel comfortable with their peers. However, we have received many keen inquiries from talented G8 students. After thoughtful considerations, with the purpose to benefit more Chinese students, RISD is fine to allow G8 students to apply, but we cannot guarantee their acceptance if they do not meet the requirements.

 

項目收費8260美金是包括參加項目的所有費用嗎？

Does $8260 include everything?

包括夏校期間的學費、食宿、材料費，不包括60美元的申請費。申請費需要在官網平台提交時直接繳納。

The total cost of $8260 include tuition, accommodation and supplies. It does not include the $60 application fee which will be paid on RISD application portal.

a)至少一份作品為(wei) 黑白畫，使用石墨鉛筆或其他幹性材質b)至少一份來自直接觀察的作品c)至少一份非直接觀察作品，至少含有3種顏色
