Writers' Workshop

機構 2023 暑期繼續推出眾(zhong) 多學員慕名而來參加的作家老師 Ms. Kari 的 創意寫(xie) 作課程。

三年級至八年級的創意寫(xie) 作的五個(ge) 級別的課程，包括從(cong) 創意寫(xie) 作入門，到獨立撰寫(xie) 完整的短篇故事，再到有效地參加 Writers Workshop，到如何運用各種文學手法（Literary Devices）來為(wei) 作品增色，再到最後的如何投稿出版自己的作品。通過五個(ge) 進階課程的學習(xi) ，孩子循序漸進紮紮實實地提高寫(xie) 作水平。具體(ti) 為(wei) 以下五門課程：

G3-4 Creative Writing: Introduction to Fiction

小說主要故事元素的入門學習(xi) ，極大地激發學生們(men) 的創意寫(xie) 作興(xing) 趣。

G4-5 Creative Writing: Writing through Novel Study - Anne of Green Gables

以作家的方式去閱讀（Reading like a writer），將小說作為(wei) 範文（Mentor Text），創作出自己的優(you) 秀小說作品。

G5-6 Creative Writing:Writers Workshop

通過作家研討會(hui) 的形式，根據別人的修改意見不斷修改小說作品；並給別人的作品提出修改建議，從(cong) 而學會(hui) 以更思辨的方式來看自己的作品。

G5-6 Creative Writing:Literary Devices in Fiction and Poetry

通過學習(xi) 各種文學手法技巧來為(wei) 作品錦上添花。每一節課都會(hui) 將具體(ti) 的文學手法（Literary Devices）和一種寫(xie) 作風格（Writing Styles）進行配對學習(xi) 。

G6-8 Advanced Creative Writing:Publishing a Short Story

這是一門給熱愛寫(xie) 作的學生設計的以出版為(wei) 目的的課程。作家老師將一步步地教學生從(cong) 哪些方麵來修改完善自己的作品，如何找到適合自己作品投稿的出版刊物，甚至會(hui) 教如何寫(xie) 給編輯部的 cover letter，如何回複編輯部的信件。課堂上通過閱讀分析同齡人出版的故事，學習(xi) 為(wei) 什麽(me) 這些作品能得以出版，我們(men) 能從(cong) 中學到什麽(me) ，並運用到自己的作品中來。課堂結束後學生將給三個(ge) 出版刊物投稿。

G5-6 Creative Writing: Writers' Workshop

CREATIVE WRITING SERIES

適合年級：G5-6 年級

Writers' Workshop 是一個(ge) 常用的有效提高寫(xie) 作的課程方式。學生們(men) 在作家研討會(hui) 中通過給予並接受其他同學的建設性修改意見，從(cong) 而提高寫(xie) 作和寫(xie) 故事的能力。在本課程中，學生們(men) 將會(hui) 寫(xie) 一部短篇小說，與(yu) 老師同學一起研討，不斷修改他們(men) 自己的故事，同時還要閱讀其他同學的作品並提出修改建議。

學生們(men) 需要上交小說作品的第一稿和第二稿。在課堂上，將分別研討每個(ge) 學生的短篇小說，討論各故事寫(xie) 作要素，譬如：敘事人稱角度，時間地點背景，主題，角色塑造，情節弧，以及語言等。要求學生將對其他同學作品的評價(jia) 詳細地寫(xie) 下來並討論，通過這樣的方式學生們(men) 將學會(hui) 在看自己的作品時候，也會(hui) 采取一種批判性的思考方式。

G56 Writers' Workshop

Course Description

A writers' workshop focuses on learning the art of giving and receiving constructive criticism in order to teach students to better their own writing and storytelling abilities. In this course, students will learn to write a short story, workshop the story with classmates, revise and rewrite their stories, and also read and give advice regarding the work of their classmates. Students will be expected to turn in a first and second draft of their work. Each student will also be expected to read every short story written by their classmates. We will workshop each student’s story individually, discussing elements of craft such as point of view, setting, theme, character building, plot arch, and language. Students will be expected to write about and discuss the work of their peers in detail in an effort to learn to think about their own work more critically.
