加拿大Toronto Bio多倫多大學全國生物競賽介紹

University of Toronto National Biology Competition (U of T NBC)多大全國生物競賽由多倫(lun) 多大學主辦，自1995年起，每年為(wei) 中學生提供一個(ge) 可以測試自己關(guan) 於(yu) 生物這門學科知識儲(chu) 備和理解能力的平台。

如今，University of Toronto National Biology Competition已經成為(wei) Canadian Biology Olympiad（CBO）加拿大生物奧賽除Skills Portfolio實驗技能外理論知識的唯一選拔標準，專(zhuan) 為(wei) 加拿大推舉(ju) 可以參與(yu) International Biology Olympiad（IBO）國際生物奧賽的優(you) 秀學生。

競賽規則

注冊(ce) 日期：1 月 20 日星期一開放，3 月 6 日星期五截止。

比賽日期：4 月 30 日星期四，競賽在下午1:00至3:00之間開始，時長為(wei) 75分鍾（因疫情原因2022年比賽停辦，預計2023年開啟）

適合對象：9-12年級在校學生，包括Quebec魁北克省CEGEP第一年的學生等開考前，NBC組委會(hui) 提前一周發放試卷學生注冊(ce) 前需要本校老師先行注冊(ce) 成為(wei) Competition Coordinator每所加拿大本土學校參賽學生不得少於(yu) 3人，海外學校參賽學生不得少於(yu) 10人

競賽形式

50道選擇題：由departments of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and Cell & Systems Biology,多倫(lun) 多大學生態與(yu) 進化生物學及細胞與(yu) 係統生物學係教員出卷準備

每道選擇題有5個(ge) 選項，其中僅(jin) 一項為(wei) 最佳答案

競賽內(nei) 容

National Biology Competition多大全國生物競賽涵蓋高中生所有生物課程，且競賽內(nei) 容可以體(ti) 現各省中學生生物課程內(nei) 相似的內(nei) 容，其主要考試範圍為(wei) ：

General biochemistry基礎生物化學：basic chemical concepts, chemical bonds, biochemical reactions, biologically important organic molecules

Cell structure and processes細胞結構和流程：cell structure and function, membrane structure, transport across membranes

Cell metabolism細胞代謝：energy in the cell, enzymes, cellular respiration, photosynthesis, mitosis, cell cycle

Genetics遺傳(chuan) 學：meiosesis, sexual and asexual reproduction, Mendelian inheritance, DNA, genes and chromosomes, protein synthesis, mutation, genetic disorders in humans, gene expression and manipulation

Evolution進化：historical context for evolutionary theory, evidence for evolution, population genetics, evolutionary mechanisms, adaptation, speciation, extinction

Biological diversity生物的多樣性：taxonomy, phylogeny, origin of life, microbial, fungal, plant, and animal diversity

Plant structure and function植物的結構和功能：structure, growth, and reproduction, transport mechanisms, growth regulators

Vertebrate structure and function脊椎動物的結構和功能：digestion, circulation, gas-exchange, reproduction, development, homeostasis, excretion, and nervous, endocrine, and immune systems

Ecology生態：species interactions, matter exchange and energy flow, population dynamics, human ecology, conservation biology

競賽獎項

加拿大學校排名前 5% 的學生將獲得指定他們(men) 為(wei) 國家生物學學者的證書(shu) ；國家生物學學者以優(you) 異成績排名前1% 。

加拿大以外學校排名前 5% 的學生將獲得指定他們(men) 為(wei) 國際生物學學者的證書(shu) ；國際生物學學者以優(you) 異成績排名前 1% 。

每所有 10 名或以上參賽學生的學校將獲頒成就證書(shu) ，以獎勵其在比賽中的得分最高者。參與(yu) 學生少於(yu) 10 人的學校也將獲得證書(shu) ，如果該學校的優(you) 秀學生在所有參與(yu) 者中得分前 30%，則該學校也將獲得證書(shu) 。

入學獎學金

多倫(lun) 多大學國家生物學競賽獎學金將頒發給競賽中排名前 15 位的學生（在所有參賽者中），以便在多倫(lun) 多大學（聖喬(qiao) 治校區）文理學院注冊(ce) 。

每項獎學金的價(jia) 值為(wei) 3,000 美元。

獲得獎學金的條件是學生在比賽中獲得高於(yu) 95% 的分數，在中學最後一年表現出出色的學習(xi) 成績，並在多倫(lun) 多大學 (St. George) 的文理學院注冊(ce) ）。

不在中學最後一年的獲獎者可以推遲接受獎學金。

不止一次參加比賽的學生隻能獲得一份獎學金。
