In many countries, it is normal to observe that televisions have achieved immense appeal among young children. Some people believe that television is detrimental to children's physical and mental health, whereas others view it as an educational and entertaining enrichment. In my opinion, there are certain unintended negative consequences of children watching television, despite the fact that these programmes can bring them both education and joy.
One could argue that children's potential for learning becomes infinite due to their exposure to television since TV provides youngsters with a wealth of information, which helps expand their horizons. Beakman's World, for instance, is a popular science-themed television miniseries aimed at American youth. The performance delightfully explains scientific issues in order to familiarise young audiences with the most recent technological instruments and developments. In this way, students could embrace such information to better themselves or establish future career ambitions, such as becoming a scientist or an astronaut. Moreover, the enjoyment and pleasure of beautiful and vibrant graphics on television programmes can provide children with a tremendously delightful and enjoyable experience. Accordingly, it will contribute to the mental health of youngsters, allowing them to be more optimistic about the future.
However, there are also multiple reasons why parents feel TV is inappropriate for their kids. First, watching television is highly tempting. Cartoons, for instance, can be quite addictive for kids. As a result, after forming a TV obsession, kids may have difficulty concentrating on schoolwork and perform poorly in general. Also, it will negatively impact the health of youngsters. The sedentary lifestyle is blamed for the prevalence of obesity. In addition, media violence has evolved into a major challenge in many nations. Due to the fact that many adolescents are too immature to differentiate between right and wrong, exposure to media violence causes them to follow undesirable behaviours in real life, ultimately leading them astray. For instance, they are inclined to fight with and bully peers, as depicted on television. Therefore, inappropriate content on these topics could be detrimental to the moral education of children.
In conclusion, despite the fact that education and information gained via television are beneficial, they may be both damaging and advantageous to future generations. Therefore, parents should be responsible for constantly supervising their children to watch educational and appropriate television programmes rather than restricted-rated content.
