美國大學SPS繼續教育學院學曆得不到國內認可？值得去讀嗎？

美國很多大學都有SPS學院，全稱Shool of Professional Studies（簡稱SPS）。

一聽到 SPS “繼續教育學院”，很多人就能跟“野雞項目” 、“成人教育”等詞聯係起來，兮兮我也是見怪不怪了，一直以來，SPS這個(ge) 學院流傳(chuan) 在外的名聲都是褒少貶多。

此處要Cue一下留學鄙視鏈：

藤校的學生看不起其他學校一般學院的學生，

其他學校一般學院的學生看不起各種繼續教育學院的學生；

但，今天我不是來跟大家吐槽或者洗白的，咱們(men) 具體(ti) 問題具體(ti) 分析。

最近不乏有很多同學也來谘詢過關(guan) 於(yu) SPS學院究竟值不值得去讀這個(ge) 問題。除此之外，大家也都還普遍存在著這些問題：

1、美國大學的SPS學院錄取的學生很水？

2、回國後學曆可以得到認證和認可嗎？

3、為(wei) 什麽(me) 上課大多都在晚上？夜校？成人教育？

4、為(wei) 什麽(me) 授課老師有些是在企業(ye) 任職的高管，是兼職嗎？

5、為(wei) 什麽(me) 外國人都是先工作幾年後再去讀sps？

01錄取的學生水不水

美國大學有不少綜合排名在Top30內(nei) 的院校，一些熱門的著實申請項目都開在這個(ge) 學院下，其中最為(wei) 大家所知的就是哥大的SPS學院和紐約大學的SPS學院。

但 “繼續教育學院” 的開設的祖師是芝加哥大學。芝加哥大學在1890年建校伊始，就同時設立了全美首家繼續教育學院，而其他學校建立SPS學院都在這個(ge) 時間之後，哈佛大學開設SPS學院是在1910年，紐約大學開設SPS學院是在1934年。哥大就更晚了，是在1995年。

這裏分別簡單介紹一下哥大和紐約大學的SPS學院：

哥大SPS學院

哥倫(lun) 比亞(ya) 大學SPS是哥倫(lun) 比亞(ya) 大學下屬20所學院之一，位於(yu) 美國紐約曼哈頓。學院的宗旨是，為(wei) 滿足全球尖端領域市場發展的需求，培養(yang) 專(zhuan) 業(ye) 性強的複合運用型人才。

最近這幾年，哥大的SPS突然就火熱了起來，申請人數蹭蹭蹭往上漲，申請要求自然也有所提升。以前，不管什麽(me) 背景的人都想去申一下，但是現在水漲船高，沒以前那麽(me) 好申請了，實在要說個(ge) 難度的話，大概跟綜排30名左右的學校申請難度是差不多吧。

並且地處紐約的哥大總能第一時間把握市場的最新需求，迅速開設出當下最為(wei) 熱門的項目，讓一群申請者趨之若鶩。學生常申的碩士項目如：應用分析學（AA）、企業(ye) 風險管理（ERM）、人力資源管理、非營利組織管等，皆在SPS學院。

所以大家也不要想象的太容易了，但反過也說明生源也不會(hui) 太差。

美國大學SPS繼續教育學院，學曆得不到國內(nei) 認可？值得去讀嗎？

紐約大學SPS

紐約大學的 “繼續教育學院” 建立至今，已經有80多年的曆史了，地處紐約市中心，比名氣大的“工程學院”更早成為(wei) 紐大的一部分，也算名正言順的NYU資深學院。

該學院下的酒店管理、人力資源管理、整合營銷、項目管理等碩士項目都是學生的熱門選擇。

總的來說，SPS學院這兩(liang) 年水漲船高，不斷提高錄取標準，包括增加麵試還有所有國際學生（無論是否在海外讀本科）一概不免語言，必須提供托福或雅思成績。

曾經的SPS學院你愛理不理，現在的SPS學院你高攀不起。

如今的SPS學院錄取的學生的標準已經大大提升，能錄上的學生也真算不上水。（當然，大神級別的可以劃走不看，看了也沒有意義(yi) ...）

02學曆認證和認可

回國後學曆可以得到認證和認可嗎？

肯定的回答是：可以得到學曆認證。SPS學院跟美國大學裏其他學院同等，隻要是正規大學開設的學位課程，Full-time On-Campus學生的學曆，回國後都是認可的，可以在國家教育部留學服務中心獲得認證。

至於(yu) 認可這個(ge) 話題，就好比如在問它好找工作嗎？

之前，有一位哥倫(lun) 比亞(ya) 大學sps學院畢業(ye) 回國發展的同學分享。他同時申請了哥大的兩(liang) 個(ge) 不同學院下的兩(liang) 個(ge) 不同專(zhuan) 業(ye) ，其中有一個(ge) 就是SPS學院。相對來說，他最感興(xing) 趣的專(zhuan) 業(ye) 開設在SPS學院下，但是同時他也有不少跟上麵一樣的顧慮，糾結了一段時間。但是最後，他通過對比兩(liang) 個(ge) 學院學生所用的學籍和教務係統發現，這與(yu) 哥大其他學院的配置完全一致，由此可見，SPS完全屬於(yu) 正常的學院管理係統，並不會(hui) 被區別對待。

沒有了疑慮的他毅然決(jue) 然選擇了SPS學院這邊最感興(xing) 趣的專(zhuan) 業(ye) ，後來在臨(lin) 近畢業(ye) 的時候就已經落實好了國內(nei) 的工作，單位領導也非常認可和器重他。他承認，除了個(ge) 人的努力，學曆的加持帶來了不少的作用。在收到電子畢業(ye) 證後，他也順利完成了中國教育部留學服務中心的學位的認證證書(shu) 。

同時他還表示：哥倫(lun) 比亞(ya) 大學SPS學員頒發的證書(shu) 除了除了左下角有寫(xie) SPS，表明是哪個(ge) 學院畢業(ye) 的（全校都如此），其他別無二致，大家可以放心。而據知乎上知友的反饋，哈佛 ExtensionSchool 跟其他學校的 SPS 還是略有區別的。哈佛大學 Extension Schoo 的學位證書(shu) 會(hui) 帶有 “Masterof … in Extension School” 字樣。其他學校的 SPS 學院頒發的學位證書(shu) ，均隻顯示碩士種類（“Master of …”）。

03夜校？成人繼續教育

關(guan) 於(yu) 上課：為(wei) 什麽(me) 上課大多都在晚上？難道是傳(chuan) 說中的夜校？還是跟國內(nei) 成人教育一樣？

其實不止SPS學院的項目會(hui) 安排在晚上上課，美國的研究生項目，很多工程學院和商學院項目課程也都被安排在了晚上，這是因為(wei) 美國的研究生院偏向就業(ye) 導向型的專(zhuan) 業(ye) 居多，所以會(hui) 鼓勵學生們(men) 多做實習(xi) ，多參加各種實踐考試，這樣就會(hui) 把很多的課程安排在晚上，但是並不是所謂的“夜校”。

跟國內(nei) 的“成人繼續教育”更加是有本質上的區別的。美國的“繼續教育學院”，研究生項目的招生對象是有本科學位的學生，淩駕在這之上還有一套自己的標準和要求。而國內(nei) 的“成人繼續教育”很大程度上是掃除文盲和促使教育公平，招收的學生很多是工作多年，隻有初中、高中、中專(zhuan) 和職高等相對文化背景層次較低的學生，錄取標準也比普通高考的學生要低很多。

根本就不在一個(ge) 層次，這怎麽(me) 能相比呢？

04高管授課老師，在職學生

至於(yu) 第4和第5個(ge) 問題，可以放在一起來說一下：

也正是因為(wei) SPS學院有些項目的課程放到了晚上，很多學生白天會(hui) 把各種考試實踐、實習(xi) 等和工作結合起來，賺點錢來支撐高額的學費，這並不衝(chong) 突，反而一舉(ju) 兩(liang) 得。

美國學生也並不僅(jin) 僅(jin) 隻是SPS學院的才出去工作，很多研究生都想要這麽(me) 一個(ge) 學習(xi) 工作兩(liang) 不耽誤的機會(hui) ，由於(yu) 研究生的學費昂貴，而美國大學的父母一般都是在孩子本科畢業(ye) 以後就不再承擔孩子的撫養(yang) 責任，研究生的學費大多數要靠自己賺取獲得，因此，很多美國學生都是在工作了幾年之後，有了積蓄再回來讀書(shu) ，都並不稀奇。此處不應該針對SPS學院，也並不是項目不好，隻是職業(ye) 選擇和文化習(xi) 慣不同導致不同的選擇而已。

對於(yu) 想在美國工作的學生來說，也是一個(ge) 非常不錯的選擇。一起上課的同學基本上都是美國社會(hui) 上的在職人士，他們(men) 遍布於(yu) 這個(ge) 地區大大小小的企業(ye) 和機構。尤其是名校的SPS學院，你的同學就是優(you) 質的人脈資源，能帶來最新鮮的職業(ye) 訊息。

至於(yu) 為(wei) 什麽(me) 授課老師有些是在企業(ye) 任職的高管，表麵原因：白天不用給學生上課的話，肯定也會(hui) 擁有一份自己的其他工作。

但實質上由於(yu) “繼續教育學院”開設的專(zhuan) 業(ye) 具有很強的實用性和就業(ye) 導向性，所以其教授在專(zhuan) 業(ye) 學術和科研領域肯定比不上傳(chuan) 統的文理和工程學院。現在社會(hui) 發展日新月異，很多一直待在學術象牙塔裏的教授的授課內(nei) 容難免已經和社會(hui) 脫節嚴(yan) 重，而傳(chuan) 授第一手社會(hui) 技能和知識的最佳人選無疑是在職的從(cong) 業(ye) 人員，所以SPS學院的老師很多都是外聘的兼職教授，旨在讓學生獲得更廣泛的在職培訓，幫助他們(men) 畢業(ye) 後快速就業(ye) 。商科專(zhuan) 業(ye) 的重點是就業(ye) 技能和人脈拓展，又不用耗在實驗室裏做科研，找點業(ye) 內(nei) 牛人教授對學生來說隻有好處沒有壞處。

05SPS學院值不值得去讀

最後，說了這麽(me) 多，SPS學院究竟值不值得去讀？

這就真的是一個(ge) 見仁見智的問題了。

的確，SPS繼續教育學院對於(yu) 那些申請背景和硬性成績都比較差的同學來說是一顆明珠，是進入名校的好機會(hui) 。因為(wei) SPS學院的申請門檻較低：比同校的其他項目要求的GPA，托福和GRE/GMAT要求相對低一些。

如果你各方麵都很不錯，高GPA、GRE托福無壓力，名企實習(xi) 都拿得出手，那你大可不必煩惱這些個(ge) 問題，名校名項目才是你的選擇。但如果沒有工作經驗，也不想申請太數理/量化的項目，SPS學院下的項目是相對比較好的選擇。

SPS學院下設的專(zhuan) 業(ye) 和該校其他院係基本沒有重疊，甚至還彌補了商學院部分專(zhuan) 業(ye) 的空白。SPS學院更多的目標是為(wei) 了讓本科專(zhuan) 業(ye) 是較為(wei) 廣泛的“哲學”專(zhuan) 業(ye) 的學生，去獲得更加專(zhuan) 業(ye) 的應用型知識，以適應市場的就業(ye) 需要。

舉(ju) 個(ge) 例子：紐約大學商學院的名頭在商界也可是響當當，但Stern商學院的MS項目大都是part-time的，MBA項目沒有3-5年全職工作經驗也申請不了。而熱門的金融項目也隻有金融數學和金融工程，不適合沒有數理背景的學生。這樣一來，SPS學院的很多商科項目都是中國留學生的唯一選擇。

總之，不管是之後有留美計劃的學生，還是為(wei) 了追求名校頭銜之後想要回國工作的學生，申請 SPS 可謂是捷徑。
