在美本申請中，文書(shu) 是一個(ge) 能讓學生向大學表達自己個(ge) 性和想法的機會(hui) ，招生官在審查文書(shu) 的同時除了考察學生的語言能力外，還會(hui) 考察學生的思辨能力。

除了申請係統的主文書(shu) 外，許多大學還有自己的補充文書(shu) 。

今天我們(men) 以藤校為(wei) 例，來看一看藤校的補充文書(shu) 要求以及如何才能寫(xie) 出令招生官滿意的申請文書(shu) 。

藤校補充文書(shu)

普林斯頓大學補充文書(shu)

Princeton University

普林斯頓大學今年新增了一個(ge) 500字以內(nei) 的，主題關(guan) 於(yu) “你的生活經曆”。

學校希望借此來了解“這些經曆如何塑造了申請的學生，未來將發揮出什麽(me) 樣的作用。”

另外，學校還會(hui) 按照專(zhuan) 業(ye) 選擇情況來提供不同類型的補充文書(shu) 題目。

Harvard University

受到此前平權法案的影響，哈佛大學的補充文書(shu) 題目取消了過去一直在招生中沿用的可選的Optional補充文書(shu) 模式，取而代之的是5篇必答的Required 200字文書(shu) 。

Yale University

耶魯大學的補充文書(shu) 題目分為(wei) 簡答題和必答文書(shu) 兩(liang) 部分。

簡答題是耶魯大學文書(shu) 的重要組成部分，短小精悍。而必答文書(shu) 題目則會(hui) 根據申請人選擇的申請平台而略有不同。

Columbia University

今年哥倫(lun) 比亞(ya) 大學的補充文書(shu) 與(yu) 去年有所不同，題目做了改動外，對字數的要求也發生了變化。

A personal statement is a narrative essay. Like other essays, the point of it is to “prove”--or demonstrate the validity of–an argument. You’ll preview that argument in a thesis statement that appears in your introduction and then support that argument throughout the body of the essay using analysis of evidence. In a personal statement, the “evidence” is stories from your past, and the “thesis” is an assertion of why you and this opportunity are the right fit for each other.

Some applications ask that you write an essay that draws on more personal reflections. These essays, sometimes called Personal Statements, are an opportunity to show the selection committee who you are as a person: your story, your values, your interests, and why you—and not your peer with a similar resume—are a perfect fit for this opportunity. These narrative essays allow you to really illustrate the person behind the resume, showcasing not only what you think but how you think.

招生官點評

許多成功的文書(shu) 都遵循一個(ge) 簡單的公式：鉤子（ Hook ） + 錨點（Anchor） + 故事 （Story）+ 成長（Growth）。雖然具體(ti) 內(nei) 容可能各不相同，但如果你能包含這四個(ge) 要素中的每一個(ge) ，你就能寫(xie) 出一篇引人注目的文章。

鉤子：鉤子的作用是吸引讀者。招生官每天要閱讀成百上千篇文章，所以要努力在第一時間抓住他們(men) 的注意力。用一些引人入勝或與(yu) 眾(zhong) 不同的內(nei) 容作為(wei) 文章的開頭。

Georgina 的 "鉤子 "就是她的 "laymounada "攤位。黎巴嫩的 laymounada 有什麽(me) 特別之處？它與(yu) 普通檸檬水有什麽(me) 不同？特塔是誰？Georgina用她對經典檸檬水攤故事的文化詮釋，激發了讀者的好奇心。

錨：錨是連接整篇文章、賦予其意義(yi) 的觀點或主題。一個(ge) 好的 "錨 "能發人深省，讓讀者在讀完文章後感到意猶未盡。

文書(shu) 寫(xie) 作注意事項！

文書(shu) 寫(xie) 作是整個(ge) 申請過程中最個(ge) 人化的部分，你的申請文書(shu) 裏的每一個(ge) 字都是你自己敲出來的，除了字數和主題的限製，一切都由學生自由發揮。

但自由發揮不代表雜亂(luan) 無章，明頓擁有多年的文書(shu) 輔導經驗，這也讓我們(men) 積累了不少反麵教材，以下文書(shu) 寫(xie) 作的坑是大家一定要避免的。

不重視立意和頭腦風暴

不重視立意和頭腦風暴，誤以為(wei) 文書(shu) 比的隻是誰的語法更精準、誰的文字更優(you) 美。

好的文書(shu) 輔導應該將時間的大頭花在跟學生溝通，挖掘學生的故事、捕捉學生的閃光點上，和學生一起找到一個(ge) 既能表達學生真實想法又能符合名校招生官喜好的文書(shu) 主旨。

而不是三言兩(liang) 語就草草定一個(ge) 方向，加幾個(ge) 看似漂亮的句子，便結束了。

不要寫(xie) 流水賬

Common App中已經填寫(xie) 過的內(nei) 容無須在文書(shu) 中重複說一次。

很多成功的申請文書(shu) 往往是以小見大，從(cong) 看似不起眼或者根本不算什麽(me) “成就”的生活小事中娓娓道來，向招生官展現了一個(ge) 豐(feng) 滿的人格。

切忌通篇自吹自擂

招生官並不想要看到一個(ge) 完美的人，他們(men) 想看到的是真正的你，以及你真實的所思所想。

而一篇隻會(hui) 歌功頌德的文書(shu) 恰恰體(ti) 現了你缺乏獨立思考的能力，不具備深入自省的批判精神，這是不符合美國頂尖名校的選拔偏好的。

走心的文書(shu) 應該講的是在簡曆和活動列表上沒有的東(dong) 西，那些不能被簡單定義(yi) 的人生篇章，正是這些可大可小的生活思考向招生官展現了一個(ge) 生動鮮活的人，這才是招生官想要看到的你。
