NHSDLC海外邀請賽項目往屆回顧

對許多辯手來說 參加海外名校邀請賽 是一次特別的體(ti) 驗，除了要克服時差參賽，還麵臨(lin) 著更高水平的對手和辯題帶來的挑戰。

挑戰之外，海外賽帶來的收獲： 適應不同的裁判風格、 學習(xi) 海外選手的思考角度、 體(ti) 驗辯論的多樣性...... 更是一份寶貴的財富
今天我們(men) 和大家一起 從(cong) 往屆選手和帶賽教練的第一視角 來體(ti) 驗這場國際賽事。

2023年是我第一次參加海外賽，我想要體(ti) 驗國際比賽的氛圍，和海外的選手切磋一下，有助於(yu) 我在辯論中的學習(xi) 並開拓眼界。通過海外賽我領會(hui) 到更多的辯論技巧，比如如何cut cards。海外賽也讓我體(ti) 會(hui) 到了不一樣的judging風格。

我連續參加了三年的海外賽，希望能多了解其他國家選手看待辯題的角度。往往海外賽裏選手提出的論點會(hui) 和國內(nei) 比賽選手的有差別，能進一步開拓我的思路。海外賽也讓我更好地了解了辯論的多樣性，讓我學習(xi) 到了更多的辯論方式、體(ti) 驗了不同的裁判風格。

海外邀請賽讓我印象最深的是我能感受到所有選手對辯論的喜愛和熱情。一開始我以為(wei) 參賽的選手們(men) 都會(hui) 非常嚴(yan) 肅，甚至有點冷漠。但海外賽的實際氛圍非常歡快，這點是我之前沒有想到的。

去年是我第一次參加海外賽！首先辯題很有挑戰性，對我來說是一個(ge) 全新的領域；其次，我一直覺得辯論是不受地域限製的，可以和來自世界各地的辯手交流是一件很酷的事。

我是一個(ge) 非常不擅長熬夜的人，所以在賽前信誓旦旦地說比賽過程中決(jue) 不會(hui) 睡著！但因為(wei) R1和R2之間隔太久了，所以我改稿改著改著就抱著電腦睡著了，隊友花了好大力氣才把我叫醒（對不起哈哈哈哈）。輪流叫醒對方是一件非常有技術含量的事情——把你搭檔叫醒比比賽本身更難。

這也是我第一次如此全心全意地投入一場比賽，一閉上眼睛就是滿天亂(luan) 飛的Right to work laws。這無疑讓我更加貼近曆史、現實和未來，更加了解到合作的重要性。同時它也讓我更加明確：無論輸贏，還是選擇熱愛辯論。Oncea debater, always a debater.

首先，海外賽的辯題大多頗具挑戰性，會(hui) 涉及一些相對細分的領域，對於(yu) 不少辯手來說都比較陌生。

First, last year's resolution was quite challenging in its own right.Right to work laws in the US is a very niche field. Not only is it specifically domestic US, it's also a political policy most students have no understanding of.

其次，如何適應不同的裁判風格對所有學生來說都是一門功課。

The second aspect is judging. Some students complained that judges were lazy, or not paying attention, or their paradigms were very different from what most students are used to. This is a valuable point to learn from. Students should be comfortable adapting to different judging styles.

最後，美國選手也會(hui) 有一些特別的打法是國內(nei) 選手不太熟悉的，例如所謂的 "theory" arguments 打法。

And third, a quirk of US tournaments, many US students run so called "theory" arguments, for example, "Teams must disclose their case before the round."These arguments are very popular in the US National Circuit. Most Chinese teams will have never encountered these, and understanding how to respond to these arguments will become a prerequisite in upcoming years.

備戰海外賽時，最好將所有的evidence及其來源整理成一係列cards。這不但方便裁判確認你的evidence的準確性和權威性，也可以在比賽中避免很多麻煩，可以嚐試用 Verbatim(https://paperlessdebate.com/)來組織你的cards。

When preparing for a tournament, especially a US tournament, you have to organize all of your evidence into cards. Having just some pieces of evidence in your case is never enough. Judges are most convinced when you read a source when your evidence, meaning you have to organize your sources and evidence together in such a way that you can read them during a round. This is true for two reasons. One, when your opponents ask for evidence, they expect you to send a card. If you do not send a card, your opponent has the right to say you’re making up your evidence. Two, when your opponents send you evidence, they are in card format, meaning if you have an organized file, it is easier to combine multiple peoples’ prep.

此外，同學們(men) 也需要學著向教練提出更多的問題。如果你不知道一個(ge) 問題是不是該問，問問你自己：

1.這件事我自己能搞懂嗎？

2.這件事教練會(hui) 不會(hui) 有別的思考角度？

以上任何一個(ge) 問題的回答是“yes”的話，就快去找你的教練交流吧！

Students should be willing to ask more questions.From a coaching perspective, I am excited to answer student questions, but I am not going to chase after you to make sure your case, blocks, strategies are prepared. When asking questions, also consider two things.One, could you find the answer yourself? Andtwo, by asking your coach, what insight do you get from your coach that you could not get yourself?

If your answer to the first question is yes, but your answer to the second question is that you will get more knowledge by asking your coach, ask your coach. If your answer to the first question is no, then obviously ask your coach.
