MIT暑期研究項目

Research Science Institute (RSI) brings together about 70 high school students each summer for six stimulating weeks at MIT. This rigorous academic program stresses advanced theory and research in mathematics, science, and engineering. Participants attend college-level classes taught by distinguished faculty members and complete hands-on research. Open to high school juniors, the program is free of charge for those selected.
Each summer, 80 of the world's most accomplished high school students gather at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for the Research Science Institute (RSI). RSI is the first cost-free to students, summer science & engineering program to combine on-campus course work in scientific theory with off-campus work in science and technology research.
Participants experience the entire research cycle from start to finish. They read the most current literature in their field, draft and execute a detailed research plan, and deliver conference-style oral and written reports on their findings.
RSI scholars first participate in a week of intensive STEM classes with accomplished professors. The heart of RSI is the five week research internship where students conduct individual projects under the tutelage of mentors who are experienced scientists and researchers. During the final week of RSI, students prepare written and oral presentations on their research projects.

01要求
建議PSAT數學成績至少為(wei) 740分或以上，Evidence-Based閱讀和寫(xie) 作成績為(wei) 700分或以上。ACT數學分數應至少為(wei) 33分，verbal 分數至少為(wei) 34分。較低的分數必須由推薦信、高中成績和科學活動中體(ti) 現的數學、科學和學術潛力的有力指標所抵消。

申請者
有兩(liang) 種類型的申請，美國公民/永久居民和國際申請者。請注意，12年級學生沒有資格申請。

申請材料
Each student's application must include:The applicant's essay responses to the questions in the application. These should detail his or her goals in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.Recommendations by two teachers (Math/Science or a research supervisor) familiar with the candidate and the candidate's scholastic record. Applicants who have participated in a research project of 4 weeks or longer at a university  or a laboratory should request a recommendation from the research supervisor. CEE will accept a maximum of 3 recommendation letters.

All scores from nationwide standardized tests. These include the PSAT, SAT, ACT, and AP exams. Students planning to apply for RSI are strongly encouraged to take the PSAT.
