補充文書(shu) 是美本申請中最重要但又常常被忽略的部分之一，出色的申請文書(shu) 對於(yu) 成功進入大學至關(guan) 重要，而補充文書(shu) 則是說服招生官你最適合這所大學的最佳機會(hui) 。

對於(yu) 頂尖大學來說，招生官可以輕鬆地找到遠超出錄取人數數倍的優(you) 秀申請者。為(wei) 了從(cong) 眾(zhong) 多有競爭(zheng) 力的申請者中真正的脫穎而出，你需要說服這些學校你理解並擁有與(yu) 他們(men) 相同的價(jia) 值觀，也就是說，你必須通過補充文書(shu) 證明自己匹配所申請的學校。

2022-2023申請季，有好幾所大學換上了新的補充文書(shu) 題目，主要圍繞兩(liang) 個(ge) 主題：What Brings you Joy（什麽(me) 能給你帶來快樂(le) ），和How do you  engage with people experiences and viewpoints that differ from your own（你如何與(yu) 自己經曆和觀點不同的人打交道）。

題目背後的邏輯

不管題目的措辭如何， 美國大學看重的是學生能否在課堂以外與(yu) 周圍社區緊密連接。招生官通過審閱“What brings you joy”了解申請者的興(xing) 趣，衡量學生是否能夠幫助構建一個(ge) 互幫互助、和諧美好的校園環境。

這個(ge) 問題更能體(ti) 現申請學生的真實興(xing) 趣和投入程度，讓招生官信服你的主觀能動性。

另外招生官還想看到學生是否有自信在申請材料中分享一些更個(ge) 人化的東(dong) 西，而不僅(jin) 是所謂的“非凡成就”。這讓申請學生的形象看起來更立體(ti) 鮮活，也體(ti) 現著學生的自信。

Diverse viewpoints

另外一大主題是關(guan) 於(yu) Diverse viewpoints不同觀點的互動的題目，範德堡大學今年首次公布了關(guan) 於(yu) 不同觀點互動的補充文書(shu) 題目，其它大學也有類似題目通過觀點間的碰撞，來理解我們(men) 的差異性。

範文示例1：My first favorite Chinese cuisine was Hunan food, because my grandmother would make it for me when I grew up and it was better than any food I could get at a restaurant .Then when I was older, I traveled to Yunnan for a research project and ate in the local villages there. The combination of fresh ingredients was unlike anything I’d ever had before! Though I don’t want to diminish my grandmother’s cooking skills, I have come to recognize that Yunnan food—at least the kind you can find in Yunnan villages—is my favorite Chinese cuisine.
